The Conestoga Condors were recognized with two awards at the 2025 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) annual general meeting earlier this month.

Student photographer Vishank Shekhar Arora won Photo of the Year the 2025 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) annual general meeting.
A marketing award recognized the Condors media team and a student photographer Vishank Shekhar Arora won Photo of the Year. This is the first time Conestoga has been recognized in either category.
The overall media team won the Best Social Media award. The team includes Scott O’Sullivan, Sport and Recreation media co-ordinator, and Bobby Colorado, lead graphic designer.
They’re supported by the student media team that includes Arora as well as Abhishek Rane, Dhrupal Vaghela, Jithu Reji, Jayce Bennett, Kennedy Metheral, Moyosoluwa Babalola, Rajveer Singh, Razaq Giwa, Rohan Roy, Sumit Kumar and Yash Bhoj.
Arora was awarded Photo of the Year for capturing a dramatic and dust-filled moment at the home plate of a varsity softball game between Conestoga and Humber College.
The awards are a testament to the team’s commitment to capturing the competitive spirit and excellence of athletics at Conestoga, O’Sullivan said.
“This recognition means a lot to me and to our entire media team. We’ve worked hard to build something that feels authentic, creative and community driven,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud of our student staff and the passion they bring to telling the stories of the Condors. To have that work acknowledged by our peers across the OCAA is both humbling and energizing.”
Athletics & Recreation offers programming and facilities designed to engage Conestoga students and enhance their health and wellness through varsity and extramural athletics, intramural sports and fitness classes. The Student Recreation Centre at the Kitchener - Doon campus provides a full range of recreation and athletic services.
